Kick Buttowski

E's favorite show on tv right now is Kick Buttowski.  When I first heard the name of this show, I wasn't sure if I liked the sound of it.  It's on Disney XD, so it shouldn't be too bad right?  But Disney does make mistakes every now and then.  Don't get me wrong, I love everything Disney, but really-Kick Buttowski?  E started watching the show with Joe one day-yes, I am throwing his dad under the bus here.

Kick Buttowski is about a boy who is like Evil Knievel.  He is a risk taker who does lots of crazy stunts with his sidekick Gunther.  E is now starting to take after Kick.  He really wants a skateboard just like Kick has.  I am not ready to get him a skateboard yet, but he still finds a way to be like Kick.

E had a great time being Kick and the show is actually pretty cute too!

We are experiencing an unseasonably warm March.  We are going to hit some records this week-it may even reach 80 before St. Patrick's day!  We are LOVING this weather.  E is LOVING being outdoors, he spends from the time we get home, until the time we go to bed outside.

He has gotten a lot of use out of his bug vacuum already.  I guess there is one positive about all of the stupid box elder bugs that are flying around.  There are a lot of bugs to suck up.

Checking out his specimens

The Collection!
I am so excited for this spring and summer, we are going to have a great time exploring the outdoors, riding bikes and collecting more bugs.

"I like to challenge my Pee-Wee's"

I am so proud of E!  He showed Ace and Factor at 4 UMASC conformation shows the first weekend in March.  He had so much fun!  He has always enjoyed being around the dogs, but he is really starting to "get it."

His attention span is still that of a 3 and a half year old, so it is fleeting, but he he is really getting into this dog show thing.  He wanted to look "handsome" and wear his suit, he couldn't wait his turn to go in the ring, he made sure that Ace was brushed, and he wanted to practice whenever the ring was empty.

E showed in four shows over the weekend.  Each show was judged by a different judge.  The first judge on Friday night was a distant friend of the family.  E did really well with him, the judge was very friendly and got down on his level.  The first judge on Saturday was also friendly, she asked E if he liked showing dogs and she asked him what his dogs name was.  E led Ace around the ring like a pro all by himself and presented Ace to the judge like you would expect a Pee-Wee to do.

The second judge on Saturday was a little special.  This judge wanted a parent in the ring when a Pee-Wee was showing.  I obliged, even though this wasn't his "first rodeo."  She asked him how long he had been showing dogs and E responded with, "Two hours."  I corrected him and told her since Nationals.  She then asked E to take his dog around the ring (he was showing Factor this show-Ace needed a break), I watched them go and the judge ordered me to follow-I looked like a fool running behind them.  We returned to the judge to present Factor and the judge made a comment to the ladies working at the table, "I like to challenge my Pee-Wee's"  She then asked E to show her the dog's bite.  E stared at her, I also stared at her!  Really, she was asking a three year old that she didn't trust alone with a dog in the ring to stick his fingers in the dog's mouth to show her his teeth, but he couldn't walk the dog on a leash by himself!?

Sunday's judge was good.  She forgot that Pee-Wee's didn't get placements and gave E first place and the little girl second, but she was quickly corrected!  E didn't notice, he was just happy to get another Lightning McQueen car.

Auntie Jan brought her puppy Mason to his first conformation show.  E took it upon himself to be Mason's "worker" on Sunday afternoon.  He brushed him with each tool available and spritzed him with a lot of water!

Both Mason and E learned a lot this weekend, it will be a lot of fun to watch them both grow up in this dog show world!

E made multiple comments over the weekend about Mason being his Best Friend!  Isn't this how it is supposed to be?

Car Accident, Cookies, Visit from a Police Officer

I wanted to include the following story in my blog, but I really didn't want to rewrite it-I know, LAZY, so, here are some excerpts from recent Facebook posts...

2/28/12
If tonight is any indication, E may have a future in crash reconstruction. His drawing was pretty detailed and his story was pretty accurate, "a car hit another car and then another and then went by our car like this and scratched it, and there was three tow trucks." Luckily we did not need one of the tow trucks. No personal injuries to anyone involved! Thanks to the great Centennial police officers for taking care of things quickly and safely. Hopefully tomorrows drive isn't as exciting.

2/29/12
E wanted to bring cookies to the police officers that responded to our accident last night, so we stopped by Centennial PD @ 6:30 tonight and their lobby hours are 8-4:30pm, all the officers were on patrol so no one was there for E to give the cookies to. We left the cookies and a note, but E was in tears that he didn't get to see the officers. That boy has such a big heart and he sure does love his police!

3/1/12
Who knew that this was going to be a 3 day long story...E got a visitor today and it was the CLPD officer that helped us in our accident and the recipient of the cookies. The officer stopped by to say, "Thank you" for the cookies and let E check out his car.

I posted this story on a Twin Cities Police Wife group page and I later found out, that there is a wife in the group whose husband works for CLPD.  She was reading the story to her husband and the officer pictured above was also there and he said that he was going to make a special trip to see this special boy!

It really made my heart happy!
